Rest of week from 5/17
Seth had his last soccer game. He really has not enjoyed the coach at all this year and it's just been very disappointing. We're still not sure if he will try out for a different team or if this will be the end for soccer. So, it may have been his last game. His team narrowly won with the final score 4 to 3. Seth got one of the goals early in the game and seemed to really enjoy himself. We went out for Momi donuts afterwards, which are a kind of mochi donut. Super pricey but pretty yummy. Katsu and I liked the taro flavor best, but Seth really liked the guava and the other boys liked the strawberry. Otherwise, we spent Saturday cleaning and the boys played some video games and Seth went to a birthday party.
Sunday we had church. We were trying to convince everyone to go, but Andrew refuses, so Logan refused to go since Andrew wouldn't. But it was Jack's first time. He made it about 20 minutes and was really fascinated with all the people. Then, I spent the rest of the time walking him around and in particular him going up and down the stairs. Hopefully once Andrew is fully vaccinated or once they start the whole block again we can get everyone to come to church.
In the afternoon, Logan and Katsu planted a sunflower garden. Then, we convinced everyone but Andrew (a common theme) to go on a walk at the International Peace Garden. I just wanted to walk around it and see it all, but the boys wanted to play on the playground and then Noah threw a huge fit and went running away and then it ended up pouring rain. So we just went home and then ran into Katsu's boss Scott Ward who came with a huge box of Crumbl Cookies. Noah was still being a pill and he and Logan kept begging for cookies. Then, as Scott went to leave, I told him that it was a pleasure for him to visit and Noah said "No, it wasn't.". Lovely lovely lovely. Katsu and I finished the evening by trying to watch a documentary about the founding of Egyptian animation and their own Mickey-Mouse-type character Mish Mish, but we kept having to put kids back to bed. What a week!
